Integration engineering pays well everywhere — but "well" means very different numbers in Sydney, London and Bengaluru. This guide summarises what we see across listings on IntegrationJobs and public salary data.
Australia (Sydney focus)
Sydney remains one of the strongest markets globally for integration talent. Entry-level roles start around A$100k, mid-level integration developers earn A$120k–150k, senior engineers A$150k–190k, and lead/architect roles scale up to A$286k total package. Government bodies (Transport for NSW, universities) tend to sit slightly under market but offer stability and genuine hybrid arrangements; consultancies (HCLTech, Seisma, Accenture) pay mid-market with faster progression.
Daily-rate contracting is alive and well: A$900–1,100/day is typical for senior Azure or Databricks integration contractors.
United Kingdom & Europe
London MuleSoft and banking-integration leads earn £85k–105k. Amsterdam and Berlin platform-engineering roles pay €80k–110k, often with relocation and visa support — a genuinely good deal given living costs outside London. Germany's SAP corridor (Munich, Stuttgart, Walldorf) keeps steady demand for CPI/PI-PO migration skills at €70k–95k.
India
The India market splits sharply by employer type. Services majors (TCS, Cognizant, Infosys) pay ₹18–30 lakh for mid-level MuleSoft or Boomi developers and ₹40–65 lakh for banking integration architects. Product companies and GCCs pay 30–50% above that. Remote-for-US-clients arrangements can push total compensation higher still.
Remote
Fully remote roles cluster in two bands: US$90k–140k for mid-level engineers at global fintechs and SaaS companies, and US$220k–280k for staff-level platform roles. Remote contracts (EDI, B2B integration) commonly pay US$700–850/day.
What moves you up a band
- Platform certifications — MuleSoft MCD, Boomi Professional, Azure AZ-305 consistently appear in higher-band listings
- Event streaming — Kafka at production scale is the single most salary-correlated skill we see
- Domain depth — payments, healthcare (HL7/FHIR) and EDI/B2B command premiums
- API architecture — moving from "builds integrations" to "owns the integration strategy" is the jump from A$150k to A$220k+
